A widely felt earthquake has struck Guatemala, according to local seismology agencies.

The earthquake, a preliminary 5.1, struck at about 9:54 p.m. ET Friday night.

The earthquake, which was at a depth of 80 km, struck 8 km west of Pueblo Nuevo Tiquisate, Guatemala.
