According to the official statement from Senator John McCain’s office, the Mayo Center has released a statement stating that during the Senator’s procedure on Friday, it was discovered that a brain tumor known as a glioblastoma was associated with the blood clot.

He and his family are currently reviewing their treatment options, which could include chemotherapy and radiation treatment. John McCain expressed gratitude to the community for their outpouring of support as he has recovered from the surgery, and it appears that the senator plans on returning to the U.S. Senate after further consultations with his doctors.
