The United States will be launching a missile from the Kodiak Narrow Cape Launch Facility in Kodiak, Alaska, according to Coast Guard officials.

The missile launch is scheduled to occur on Saturday between 7:00 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. local time. If the launch is unable to occur on Saturday, the Coast Guard has alternative plans for Sunday and Monday, CNN reports.

The Kodiak facility was recently used to test a missile defense system designed to shoot down incoming missiles
