MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (ALBOENEWS) — At about 2:30 p.m. ET Saturday afternoon, a manhole cover exploded at Second Avenue and East 110th Street.

Two people were taken to the hospital as a result of the explosion, suffering minor injuries, possibly burns.

Currently FDNY is on-scene.

UPDATE:

The two people injured were workers who were operating in the area. They suffered burns to their faces. Both were rushed to the hospital, one with serious injuries, the other with minor. Still no word on cause.
