HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA (ALBOENEWS)— Thousands of people were evacuated from Huntington Beach Tuesday amid threats of lightning in the area.

According to KTLA5 in Los Angeles, around 40,000 people had to be evacuated from the area. Many were there for the U.S. Open of Surfing, which is held annually in Huntington Beach.
