BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (ALBOENEWS) — According to PIX11 in New York, a New York Police Officer has been shot in the chest and the arm. The suspect has barricaded himself.

The officer was rushed to a hospital, and his condition is unknown at this time.


According to PIX11, the officer was shot in the chest twice, and once in the arm.

According to NBC4 in New York, the officer was wearing a bulletproof vest and is expected to survive.

NBC4 in New York reporting that police have received that the suspect is holding an infant at the window of the apartment they have barricaded.

NY1 News is reporting that the officer, a male, was shot twice in the chest and once in the arm. The officer was called there to respond to a disturbed non-violent person, but was shot at. The suspect is barricaded inside of a house in the area, and NYPD may be treating it as a hostage situation, as there may be people, including children, inside.

NBC4 in New York is reporting that Police say the suspect may have shot himself, but they have still not entered the home, so they are unable to verify whether or not he has.
