BEDMINSTER, NEW JERSEY (ALBOENEWS) — In a briefing from the Trump National Golf Course, President Donald Trump announced his intention to declare a national emergency for the on-going U.S. Opioid epidemic.

The President went on to say that his staff was drawing up the paperwork for officially declaring it a national emergency. He also went further to say that the issue was more than just a United States issue, but a worldwide issue.

A report released by a bi-partisan White House commission earlier in the week, which recommended that the President declare a public health emergency, estimated that approximately 142 Americans die from the epidemic every day.
