MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (ALBOENEWS) — At about 1:15 p.m. ET, firefighters were called to the scene of a reported explosion outside of a federal building in Manhattan.

According to NY Daily News, witnesses heard a small explosion in an underground garage. Smoke was pouring out of the back of the building, which prompted people to call 911 to report the incident.

It is suspected that a person was injured as a result of the accident, where a federal employee accidentally set off a flash-bang grenade.

UPDATE:

PIX 11 is reporting that the incident does indeed stem from an FBI agent who accidentally set off a flash-bang grenade in his car while in an underground garage. It appears that the agent was sent to the hospital as a result. No word on their condition at this time.
