DALLAS, TEXAS (ALBOENEWS) — In an announcement on Saturday, Six Flags Over Texas revealed that they would be removing all Confederate flags from their park.

According to The Washington Post, the flags had flown at the park since it opened in 1961, alongside Spain, Mexico, France, the Republic of Texas, and the United States. The removal is a reversal from an earlier decision that they would keep the flags up.

Six Flags Over Texas stated that their decision was made in the spirit of “celebrating the things that unite us versus those that divide us.”
