BREAKING: Police Officer Shot in Sacramento County, California

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA (ALBOENEWS) — A police officer has been shot in Sacramento County, California, police confirm.

The incident took place on Wednesday near the Ramada Inn in the 2600 block of Auburn Boulevard, near the Capital City Expressway, according to KCRA-TV.

Nearby schools have been placed on lockdown.

The condition of the officer is unknown.

UPDATE: Two officers have been shot, and they are alive, but their condition is unknown – KCRA-TV (4:12 p.m. ET)

According to CBS13 in Sacramento, three law enforcement officers have been shot; one Sheriff’s deputy and two CHP officers. All of them have been transported to the hospital but their condition is still unknown. Three suspects have been detained. (5:01 p.m. ET)

In a press conference, Sheriff Jones of Sacramento County confirmed that the deputy involved has died. The two highway patrol officers are expected to recover. (7:04 p.m. ET)
