BREAKING: San Francisco Breaks Heat Record at 106 Degrees Friday
SAN FRANCISCO (ALBOENEWS) — San Francisco breaks a heat record with a high of 106 degrees Friday, according to SFGate.com. The last time such a temperature was recorded by the National Weather Service in the city, it was June 14, 2000 with a high of 103 degrees. Meteorologists blame the heat on lack of onshore winds as well as a high pressure system sitting over Northern California.
San Francisco isn’t the only Bay Area city to break records. Nearby Santa Rosa breaks a record set in 1950 of 105 degrees. The city hit a high of 110 on Friday.
