#BREAKING: Protests Beginning to Heat up in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI (ALBOENEWS) — St. Louis police have declared the protest following the acquittal of Jason Stockley as no longer being peaceful.

Riot police are on the scene and blocking protesters as the crowds begin to swell.

UPDATE:

St. Louis police say that protesters threw bottles at officers, as well as smashing the windshield of a police cruiser. (6:55 p.m. ET)

St. Louis police say that several arrests have been made and several officers have been injured. (7:00 p.m. ET)

ABC News says that 13 people have been arrested. (8:28 p.m. ET)

According to AP, 23 known arrests were made last night, with a possibility of the number being higher. Protest leaders say that they plan on regrouping and going out again on Saturday. 10 officers were reported as being injured. (9/16 12:40 p.m. ET)

St. Louis County police say 20 officers were affected when a glass bottle shattered and exposed them to an unknown substance. (9/16 2:13 p.m. ET)

Protesters have begun marching through the West County Mall (9/16 2:32 p.m. ET)
