OTTAWA, CANADA (ALBOENEWS) — WikiLeaks whistleblower Chelsea Manning has tweeted a letter saying she is banned from Canada due to her previous conviction, according to The Guardian.
The letter Manning received told her she was no longer welcome in Canada and added, according to The Guardian, “that if the same offence had been carried out in Canada, it “would equate to an indictable offence, namely treason”, and could result in up to 14 years in prison. For this reason, Manning was deemed inadmissible to Canada.”
