SAN FRANCISCO (ALBOENEWS) — According to an article published by adage.com, Twitter will soon be testing out a 280 character limit, instead of the current 140 character format.
The company describes it as a test, but it is speculated that the experiment may become permanent after undergoing the rigors of test groups.
The original 140 limit was created because it was the number of characters in an SMS message, after allowing for a username.
