PUERTO RICO (ALBOENEWS) — The governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rossello, says the number of dead following the devastation inflicted by Hurricane Maria has risen to 34, according to AP. Of them, 19 were the direct result of the storm while 15 died in non-direct ways. This announcement came shortly after Gov. Rossello put the death toll at 19.
Puerto Rico is still largely without power, with 95 percent still lacking two weeks later. This figure includes a number of hospitals.
A current rough estimate puts the cost of the damages to the island at $90 billion.
