HONSHU, JAPAN (ALBOENEWS) — A large magnitude-6.3 earthquake has struck off the coats of Honshu, Japan, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

According to the GFZ service, the earthquake struck at a depth of about 10 km, and occurred at around 3:59 a.m. ET.

There were not any immediate reports of injuries or damage.

UPDATE: The earthquake has been downgraded by USGS to a 6.0
