DEVELOPING: Eastern States are Considering Changing Time Zones

Massachusetts and Maine are considering plans to stop observing Daylight Saving Time, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Maine has already approved the plan in their legislature, but now voters must decide whether to make the change, which would make Maine part of the Atlantic Time Zone, officials said. This would put them one hour ahead of the Eastern Time Zone.

The move can only go forward if neighboring states Massachusetts and New Hampshire make the same change, and now Massachusetts is considering making a similar change, according to Quartz.

That should be “ahead of the Eastern Time Zone”, otherwise it’d just be Central Time. 😉
