Disrespecting the national anthem in China can now lead to up to three years in prison, according to the AFP.
The National People’s Congress made the change to the law that states “Serious cases of disrespecting the country’s national anthem in public would get punishments including deprivation of political rights, criminal detention, and imprisonment of up to three years.”
