#BREAKING: Major Earthquake Strikes off Coast of Papua New Guinea

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake has struck on the island of Papua New Guinea. There are no tsunami warnings at this time. No damage or injuries have been reported. (source) – 4:56 p.m. ET November 7, 2017

There does not seem to be much threat in the area, as the most populated areas did not feel the full effects of the earthquake. USGS says that there is a low chance of casualties. (source) – 5:07 p.m. ET November 7, 2017
