It is an off-election year, but there are still interesting elections across the United States on Tuesday night that AlBoeNEWS will be covering. The race that has gotten the most attention has been the Virginia Governor race, where polls have now closed (source) – 7:02 p.m. ET November 7, 2017

According to an analysis by the New York Times, “the governor’s race in Virginia to replace Gov. Terry McAuliffe is a test of voter turnout. For Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam, the Democrat, one critical challenge is mobilizing black, Hispanic and Asian-American voters in a few population centers: the suburbs of Northern Virginia, the coastal Hampton Roads area and the city of Richmond and its surroundings. His Republican rival, Ed Gillespie, needs to deliver strong turnout across rural parts of the state, while avoiding a blowout in Northern Virginia.” (source) – 7:07 p.m. ET November 7, 2017

One of the other main elections that will be closely watched tonight will be the New Jersey governor’s race, where polls close at 8:00 p.m. ET (source) – 7:11 p.m. ET November 7, 2017

With 16 percent of the vote now tallied, Democrat Ralph Northam leads Republican Ed Gillespie 50.1 percent to 48.8 percent. (source) – 7:39 p.m. ET November 7, 2017
