The California chapter of the NAACP has launched a campaign to remove the “Star-Spangled Banner” as the United States national anthem, according to the Sacramento Bee. There are two resolutions that they are pushing. One would urge Congress to remove the national anthem, which they call “one of the most racist, pro-slavery, anti-black songs in the American lexicon,” as well as a second resolution which would proclaim support for Colin Kaepernick.
