DEVELOPING: Man Arrested After Attempting to rob Bank in Blackface

A man in Lake Elsinore, California, has been arrested after trying to rob a bank in blackface and a beanie. Jerrad Schmidt, 40, attempted to rob a Wells Fargo bank in Corona on the afternoon of August 18th. He was subsequently shown on security footage in blackface, handing the teller a note demanding money and that he had a gun. She then ran off without giving him money. His identity was discovered on November 1st, when new leads led police to his home. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery. (source) 3:54 p.m. ET November 11, 2017
