DEVELOPING: 12-year-old Sues the Department of Justice Over Ban on Marijuana

Alexis Bortell, a 12-year-old from Colorado with epilepsy, has filed a lawsuit against Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the United States Justice Department, claiming the nation’s prohibition against marijuana use is unconstitutional.

“Bortell uses a strain of cannabis oil called Haleigh’s Hope to help with her seizures, and hopes that the lawsuit will help normalize and further legalize marijuana.” Bortell says that since starting to use the liquid THC, that she has been seizure-free for two-and-a-half years.
