The Cosby Show actor Earle Hyman has died at the age of 91. Hyman was a veteran actor who was best known as playing the role of Russell Huxtable in The Cosby Show. He died in New Jersey, according to his representative.
Hyman made his Broadway debut in 1943 as a teenager, going on to become a charter member of the American Shakespeare Theatre. On The Cosby Show, he played the role of Cliff Huxtable’s, portrayed by Bill Cosby, father. For his role, he earned an Emmy Nomination in 1986. (source) 5:31 p.m. ET November 19, 2017
