A 2nd federal judge in Maryland has blocked enforcement of Donald Trump’s prohibition on transgender people serving in the U.S. military. The court’s opinion reflected that active-duty service members face substantial harm from the ban.
U.S. District Court Judge Marvin Garbis concluded that transgender service members are already suffering from “harmful consequences” and stated that the Trump administration is not only hurting these people by preventing surgeries, but also imposing a stigma of being unfit to serve onto transgenders.
