A special needs teacher was found dead of an apparent drug overdose at a New York City school in South Bronx. The man, Matthew Azimi, was 36.
NYPD is investigating where he acquired the drugs, and say that the dealer could be charged with murder. Even though he used the drugs himself, these cases are treated as homicide, per city policy.
“Right now we have an unstamped bag of heroin and syringes that he just bought that day at RiteAid, we have a receipt in his pocket,” NYPD Chief of Department Robert Boyce said. “We’ll go back to phone records to see where he bought these items from.” (source) 5:37 p.m. ET December 4, 2017
