The Trump administration is expected to finalize their repeal of a 2015 Obama admin. rule that set standards for hydraulic fracking on federal lands.
The repeal is part of a vast campaign by the Trump administration to remove environmental rules that they consider to be unnecessary and prohibitive to business expansion. The Obama rule focused mainly on three different areas: mandating that companies disclose the chemicals they use to frack, requiring them to cover surface ponds that house fracking fluids, and setting standards for the construction of the wells.
