A magnitude 4.6 earthquake has struck off of the northern California coast, about 82 km west of Petrolia.
The quake struck at a very shallow depth of .1 km. There are no reports of damage, but shaking was felt. There is no tsunami threat. (source) 2:32 p.m. ET January 7, 2018
