BREAKING: Evacuations Ordered in Southern California due to Flood and Mudslide Threat

Mandatory and voluntary evacuations have been issued in Southern California as the threat of widespread flooding continues.

About 180 homes have been issued mandatory evacuations in Duarte, and voluntary evacuations have been issued for the hillside areas of Burbank. There are also orders for parts of Santa Barbara County. Homeowners in any recently burned area have been told to take caution, using sandbags and K-rails. (source) 2:02 p.m. ET January 9, 2018

Official totals now say that there are at least 15 dead and between 12 and 24 people are unaccounted for in Southern California. The mud has been reported to be 5 feet deep in places. The death toll is expected to rise as workers dig through the wreckages. (source) 3:23 p.m. ET January 10, 2018
