Authorities in Liberty Township, Ohio, near Cincinnati, say that a man is holding a 10-year-old boy hostage and has shot at officers.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones has said that there are no injuries at this time. There was reportedly an altercation inside of an apartment where the man was staying. The boy and man are not related.

The suspect has shot at least 20 times at the officers, but negotiators are on the scene and acting cautiously with the man. There has been no return gunfire from authorities. (source) 5:25 p.m. ET January 13, 2018
