The New York Police Department is investigating after a man reported that former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer threatened to stab him in a Manhattan restaurant, according to the Associated Press.
The man, Jamie Antolini, said the incident took place earlier this month “when Spitzer came in the Upper East Side restaurant and became angry at hearing Antolini loudly praise someone Spitzer had publicly fought with during his years in the public sector.”
He claims Spitzer threatened to stab him and kill him.
A spokesman for Spitzer claims that he never made any threats, and that the argument was started by a patron in the restaurant.
Spitzer resigned in 2008 following a sex scandal with prostitutes.
