Heavy snowfall in the area has resulted in the loss of power for more than 29,000 customers in Central North Carolina Wednesday afternoon.

Parts of Durham County have seen more than 7 inches of snow and more is expected to keep accumulating. Temperatures are expected to remain near or below freezing throughout the night, but rise back up in the coming days. (source) 5:01 p.m. ET January 17, 2018
