An employee of the Child Saving Institute, an organization designed to help children in need, has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old client.
The victim told police that Hanna Dickerson, 23, had a sexual relationship with them, with the pair having sex several times. She was then arrested for first-degree sexual assault.
The Child Saving Institute issued the following statement:
“CSI takes seriously its responsibility to protect children. When the agency was notified that a former shelter youth made an allegation of inappropriate contact with a former staff member, Child Saving Institute notified Child Protective Services and law enforcement.
CSI fully cooperates with all investigative bodies regarding any allegations of abuse and/or neglect and supports prosecution to the fullest extent of the law. All personnel undergo both criminal and child/adult abuse background screenings prior to employment.
Staff receive training on a variety of topics including appropriate and professional boundaries with clients, identifying and reporting abuse and neglect, and the laws around mandatory reporting. Out of respect to the confidentiality and privacy of all clients, CSI does not comment about individual clients, nor does it comment on individual personnel matters. CSI is deeply saddened by this situation and the harm caused to the youth involved.” (source) 3:50 p.m. ET January 18, 2018
