The American Association of Poison Control Centers has issued a “high alert” following increased reports of ingestion of Tide Pod laundry detergent.

So far in the first few weeks of 2018, poison control centers have reported receiving at least 87 reports of intentional exposure by teenagers to Tide Pods.

The cases come following social media videos which depicted people doing a “Tide Pod” challenge, although it seemed the first videos were done as a joke, some teenagers have begun to do it for real.

In a story AlBoeNEWS covered last week, a student from Utah State University was rushed to the hospital after eating a Tide Pod.
