Former Miami Marlins pitcher Marcos Carvajal has died in Venezuela due to complications from pneumonia.

Sadly, he developed pneumonia and was unable to receive the required medication to treat it in time. Carvajal debuted with the Colorado Rockies in 2005, and last played in the majors with the Marlins in 2007. After he retired, he worked with his family in Venezuela.

He was 34.
