A potential high school shooting has been thwarted in Pennsylvania after a student was found with multiple weapons.

The teen was reportedly threatening to shoot up the school, and when police searched his bedroom, they found one semi-automatic rifle, one shotgun, two lever-action rifles, one revolver, one crossbow and bulk ammunition for all weapons. They also found throwing knives and two machetes.

Police were alerted to the potential threat by a student at the school, who says that they heard him talking about bringing a gun to the school.

After interviewing his parents and others in the investigation, officials learned that the teenager had planned to target 4 people he disliked, and indicated that he knew how to use the weapons for mass casualties.

It is unclear how he obtained the weapons.
