Actor Robert Wagner is being called a “person of interest” in the drowning death of Natalie Wood nearly four decades ago.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said that after investigating the death of Wood, Wagner is being investigated since he was the last person to see Wood alive.
L.A County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant John Corina said “As we’ve investigated the case over the last six years, I think he’s more of a person of interest now.”
Natalie Wood drowned off the coast of Catalina Island, Calif., in November 1981 after she went missing from her family’s yacht. Wood was 43. Captain Dennis Davern and actor Christopher Walken were also aboard on the night of Woods death. It was initially ruled an accident but the case was reopened in 2011.
