A Florida couple are facing child abuse charges after they allegedly told their 13-year-old son that he would die from 7 brain tumors.

Ginny Irovando Long and Robert Edward Long, from Fort Walton Beach, Florida, were arrested and charged with nine counts of fraud and child abuse. They set up multiple fundraisers and a GoFundMe page to collect donations for the boy.

According to police, the boy believed he had cancer, and he didn’t like to talk about it because it “scared him.” The boy’s physician said that he did not have any cancer and was perfectly healthy.
