Police in Lancaster, Pennsylvania issued an arrest warrant Wednesday for a male suspect charged with stealing cash last month from a market stand.

Hung Phuoc Nguyen, 44, pretended to be an employee at a vendor’s stand Jan. 30 while a real employee was away, police said. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. A witness submitted a hand-drawn sketch of the subject and police released a detailed description.

Lancaster city police said in a Facebook post, “We released all of those details together in our police log in the hope that someone recognizes the suspect. This was not done in jest.” Nguyen was identified by a witness as well as investigators and veteran officers who recognized his physical description and alleged motive, police said.

“While the sketch provided by the witness may have appeared amateurish and cartoonish, it, along with the distinctive physical descriptors, jogged the memory of at least one investigator to provide a potential suspect name,” police said.
