An NYPD officer was struck by a suspect who fled a traffic stop in the University Heights section of the Bronx Thursday. The officer was hit by the car at around 10 a.m.

The suspect fled in a black Toyota sedan. He drove one block and jumped out and fled on foot. Authorities said he may have been Tasered by the officer he hit before fleeing and may have a leg injury.

The officer is being treated for a non-life-threatening injury, officials said.
