Shannon Edwards, the woman whose reported affair with Pennsylvania Rep. Tim Murphy caused him to resign, has been accused of threatening to kill her husband.
Edwards, a 33-year-old psychologist, is running a Republican candidate to unseat Mike Doyle(D-Pa). Her husband has accused her of threatening to kill him while she drunkenly attacked him in 2016. He was given a temporary restraining order.
The husband is now seeking a divorce. Edwards is running for a seat in a district that covers parts of Pittsburgh.
“My opponents are likely to spend egregious amounts of time and money in an attempt to display my human mistakes for all to see,” Edwards said during her campaign announcement, “I was warned. I have been given explanations. I have been told to back down, and I am here to tell you, nevertheless, I will endure.”
