3 people are dead after police responded to what they called an “active shooter situation” in Kansas City, Missouri.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman dead on the lawn and a man came out, opening fire on the officers. They returned the shots, killing the suspect. After this, they noticed smoke coming out of the home, prompting firefighters to be called. After the fire was put out, another dead woman was discovered.
A car was seen peeling away from the home when they arrived as well, but this person has not been identified.
“KCPD is saddened for the lives lost,” KCPD Captain Lionel Colon said. “Yet, we are thankful the active shooter situation was contained and brought to a conclusion.”
