Energy Secretary Rick Perry stated on Thursday that he believes the global shift from fossil fuels is “immoral.”

Perry claims that the shift away from the fuels disadvantages developing countries economically. He went on to say that the United States has entered an age of “energy realism.”

“Look those people in the eyes that are starving and tell them you can’t have electricity,” Perry said. “Because as a society we decided fossil fuels were bad. I think that is immoral.”

Perry had previously spoken about fossil fuels providing countries and people a better way of life, as well as implying that the usage of fossil fuels could prevent sexual assault. That story can be found here.
