The University of New Orleans has canceled classes for Monday after a student has made threats of violence against the university, according to Adam Norris, Chief Communications Officer for the university.
The student made the threats to two other students, and a warrant has been issued for their arrest.
Norris said that until the student is in police custody, “it is not worth jeopardizing the safety of the members of our university community.”
Students that live on campus have been told to remain in their rooms throughout the time that the school is closed, and that police will be posted throughout the campus.
