Parts of a new pedestrian bridge that was installed near the campus of Florida International University has collapsed, according to witnesses and local media.

The bridge, which isn’t opened to the public, fell onto cars underneath, trapping several cars and killing at least four people. A further 8 people have been taken to the hospital, and those totals may rise, according to fire officials at the scene.

More more than 100 rescue operators are involved in the search, which was considered an active rescue scene as of Thursday evening.
