Several insurance companies have reported a growing number of sales and interest in “active shooter” policies.

Since the February 14th at the Parkland, Florida, high school, seven school districts have bought $3 million worth of insurance for “active shooters” from the McGowan Companies.

The insurance covers shootings at office spaces, buildings, and concert halls. It would pay out $250,000 per shooting victims for death and serious injuries, such as blindness or total disability, with additional medical coverage depending on how much insurance a district buys.
