NFL star Aldon Smith, who was arrested on Friday when his SCRAM alcohol monitoring device went off, had a blood-alcohol level of .40, a level that can kill most people, according to TMZ.

The amount is five times the legal limit for driving.

“In Smith’s case, the judge in his domestic violence case had ordered him to be completely sober while wearing the device.”

Smith is being held on $500,000 bail and his next court hearing is scheduled for Friday.
