At least 17 students and a teacher were injured after a science experiment gone wrong at a charter school in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

The explosion took place inside of a high school lab and prompted evacuations and a Hazmat crew to be called. At least 4 of the students and the teacher needed to be transported to the hospital. The school was dismissed early.

It is not immediately clear what caused the experiment to result in a chemical explosion.
