Student at a school district in central Pennsylvania are reportedly required to smile while in the hallways.

Students who do not comply are reportedly sent to the office, to a guidance counselor, or told to start smiling. If you do not do this, then you are given detention. The rule has reportedly been strictly enforced by school administrators, despite it not being a written rule.

Parents and teachers have also voiced concerns that serious bullying allegations are being ignored by the district. The district superintendent Erik Bentzel has rebuked this claim, but says he is unable to speak of specific incidents.
