A spokesman for police confirmed Friday that they are investigating an active-shooter situation at Santa Fe High School in Texas.

The following message was posted on the Santa Fe Independent School District’s website: “This morning an incident occurred at the high school involving an active shooter. The district has initiated a lockdown. We will send out additional information as soon as it is available.”

Life Flight was called to the school. The shooter has reportedly been taken into custody and has now been identified as a 17-year-old male student Dimitrios Pagourtzis.

At least 10 people have been killed; 9 students and 1 teacher, per NBC News.

A police officer has been rushed to the hospital and is currently in surgery. He is in critical condition.
